Clean, tidy, good linen, emergency water, tea and coffee, and milk. We were escorted to the house. Our dog was safe, fully fenced. The only negative was that the bedside lights are not connected to electricity (no sockets) so cannot be used. Cable should be extended on one of them to plug in on the other wall. Also, the drain in the wash hand basin is not connected to the drain, so the small plastic basin under the sink overflowed and we had to clean the floor. Otherwise, we were happy and will stay again.

The yard is nice and big for dogs and the house is spotless and tidy. The owners are very friendly and helpful and accommodated us despite our late arrival. I'm not sure about the safety in the area and there were loud Friday night walks in the neighborhood, but we had big dogs with us so didn't feel unsafe. I would recommend this place to people traveling with dogs.

The host called us to find out when we would be there, and she met us in town and took us to the establishment. However, there was no hot water during our stay. With the very hot temperatures, a cold shower was fine, but I shudder to think what it will be like in winter. The plumbing needs attention - the taps in the kitchen are coming away from the wall. The low roof (and sink roof I think) made the place feel much hotter; the heat was oppressive.

Alhoa Halfway Stop is a beautiful, neat and spotless house that offers a great experience as a place to sleep overnight or will offer a lovely stay if you wanted to stay longer. The host and hostess were extremely helpful and friendly. I happily recommend the Alhoa Halfway Stop.

First impressions it is very big, but als is very old. Picture frame in living room looking down. Locks on doors are broken, I see in previous reviews this was also mentioned. There was limited power on the prepaid meter of 40 units. We wanted to barbecue, and the convenience of the barbecue under cover was nice, until it started to boil. It leaked into the roof, so all the meat and fire got wet. The two ovens are there, but only the lower one works, and it almost burned everything! The light in the bathroom that has a bath has a poor connection and went off all of a sudden. My husband, who is a qualified electrician, saw that the light was poorly wired, which is a real concern. Furthermore, there are two suggestions that the owners can look into: carport, because it was raining, but luckily not hailing. The master bedroom's bathroom is big enough for a bath, please put one in. The candles provided for shedding are definitely not sufficient. I see the place is currently advertised for R1800 per day, and I really think the owners need to look at making the place adequate for people using the place in the future. For that price you expect quality. The place needs a little more attention.

Feeling very welcome. The space is more than ample enough for our needs. The location may not be 100% but was adequate for us overnight.

Parking very steep, but no problem for experienced driver. People were very helpful in storing my trailer in an alternate location for the evening (lock up garage) as it is not possible on steep inclines. The place is not modern and new, but everything we needed was there and everything worked. The place is neat and clean.

We were very pleased with Alhoa. Melody and her husband were very friendly and helpful. The house was really neat and clean. The parents' house, furniture etc. may not be acceptable to everyone, but for our family of 6 it was certainly sufficient as an overnight stop back to Jhb. I think for the price we paid it was worth every penny.
